Planning Scheme Review 2022

Bass Coast’s Planning Scheme is due for review in 2022.
Why is this important?

How will Phillip Island’s future developments fit in? How will they affect us?

The planning scheme sets the framework under which these can either proceed or be rejected. Does it work?

Island Voice prepared a series of articles for the local paper to get you thinking about the issues. When the review takes place, we hope, if you are unhappy with the way things have been moving in recent years, that you will be in a position to make an informed, thoughtful submission to Council.

How do you have your say?

Bass Coast Shire says there will be some community consultation on the planning scheme review this year. Planners say it will be an internal review with consultation with “key users of the scheme” only. Nevertheless, if you have strong feelings on planning issues, email the planners (and copy your submission to the councillors), outlining your concerns and ask for them to be included in the review.

We recommend you do not delay as we are not certain of the timeframe!
